WEAVE
WEAVE – Widen European Access to Cultural Communities via Europeana
WEAVE was a European project funded by the European Commission (CEF Telecom programme), bringing together 12 partners under the coordination of IN2. It aimed to link the tangible and intangible heritage of cultural communities through Europeana, and to develop open, reusable tools for annotation, gesture and movement recognition, and the visualisation of performances and 3D models. Within the consortium, NOVA University Lisbon (NOVA FCSH and NOVA FCT) developed software and 3D applications for annotating dance and performing arts; the Portuguese partners were coordinated by Carla Fernandes. https://weave-culture.eu
Stephan worked on the project as researcher and media designer (2021), contributing to the 3D component of MotionNotes.
MotionNotes
MotionNotes is a web-based, real-time multimodal video annotator (keyboard, touch and voice), designed for creative processes in which the human body and movement are at stake. Users can record video and annotate directly over it with drawings, text, voice, marks and links. Within WEAVE, 3D functionalities were added: users can import and view 3D models and use them as annotations anchored to a point in the video. MotionNotes continues the line of multimodal video annotation begun with the Creation-Tool in the TKB project. https://motion-notes.di.fct.unl.pt
